In a little village surrounded by hills, there was a farmer named Sam and a rich merchant named Jay. Sam was always nice, helping others when they needed it. But Jay cared only about having lots of money and didn’t think about anyone else.
One year, a big drought hit the village. Sam shared what little he had with everyone, even though things were tough for him too. He worked hard to help fix other people's fields. Jay, however, didn't want to help.
Instead, he tried to make more money by charging lots for what he had.
Something surprising happened. Sam's fields started growing lots of food, even though it was a tough time for farming. His kindness seemed to bring good things, and his crops helped not only his family but also others in the village. But Jay’s fields started to do badly. No matter what he did, things just got worse. His riches started disappearing, and his big house became old and broken.
One day, the village gathered to pray for rain. An older person in the village spoke up, saying, “Sam’s kindness made good things happen, while Jay's selfishness brought trouble upon himself.” Everyone understood that what we do affects what happens to us. Sam's good deeds brought good results, teaching everyone the value of being kind. Jay’s selfishness, however, led to his downfall.
When the drought ended, the village became prosperous again. Sam continued to help others, and the villagers learned from his kindness, making their community better and happier.
The story of Sam and Jay became a lesson for the village, teaching them that our actions have consequences. Being kind, like Sam, brings good things, while selfishness, like Jay's, brings trouble. Everyone learned that being nice and helping each other is important for happyness .
